Prince William County Public Schools Superintendent Steven L. Walts will present his proposed fiscal year (FY) budget for the period beginning July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, and the Capital Improvements Program to the School Board on Wednesday, February 3. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the School Board meeting room in the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas.
The budget presentation will be broadcast live on PWCS-TV, Comcast Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 36, and via Web cast at pwcstv.com. The Superintendent’s PowerPoint presentation will be posted online following his presentation to the School Board. School finance officials will meet with the news media in the conference room adjacent to the Board meeting room following the Superintendent’s presentation to the School Board.
School Board budget work sessions will be held following the Board’s public meetings at 7 p.m. on February 17 and March 3. A special work session for final markup on the FY 2011 budget is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m.
The School Board is slated to approve the Superintendent’s Proposed FY 2011 Budget on March 17 and to present its budget to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors in early April.
