Neil Beech has been appointed to take the reins as principal of Osbourn Park High School starting July 1. Beech is currently the assistant principal of Osbourn Park High School and will replace Timothy L. Healey, who was appointed associate superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability on June 17.
Beech joined Prince William County Public Schools in 2001 as a biology teacher at Brentsville District High School. During his tenure he has received the Prince William County School Board Outstanding Performance Award (2005), was a Washington Post Agnes Meyer teacher of the year nominee (2005), and received the Visiting International Faculty Cultural Educator of the Year Award for Virginia (2004). From 2006–07 Beech served as the coordinator of the Cambridge Programme and testing coordinator at Brentsville District High School. He assumed his current post as assistant principal at Osbourn Park High School in May 2007.
Beech attended Sheffield Hallam University in England and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in science and education. He holds two graduate degrees, a Master of Education in secondary science education from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University.
