Parent Input Sought in VA Department of Education Survey
Parents of children who receive any special education services through Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) are reminded to complete the 2009–10 parent/guardian survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Parent-Involvement-2010E. Letters were sent to homes in April 2010 requesting participation. The survey is a tool for measuring the percent of parents/guardians with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated their involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.
The data is being collected as part of Virginia’s 2005–10 State Performance Plan (Indicator 8), and will be made available to the public through the Annual Performance Report. The survey is available online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Parent-Involvement-2010E until September 30, 2010 and includes specific directions for completing the survey.
If you wish to receive a paper survey in English or Spanish, or have further questions, please contact Shelley Basham with the PWCS Office of Special Education at 703.791.7295.
